Day 1 : Tangier - Chefchaouen
We will make many stops along the way to the city of Chefchaouen. Upon arrival in the blue pearl of Morocco (Chefchaouen), you will have a guided tour of the medina with an introduction to its history, culture and lifestyle.
Visit the main attraction, explore the blue painted streets, lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Chefchaouen. Afterwards, you will have free time to tour the city on your own.
Day 2 : Chefchaouen ā Fez
Chefchaouen to Meknes, where we will embark on a guided tour of this historic city. Before arriving in Meknes, we will stop at the remarkable Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the best preserved Roman ruins in the region. Immerse yourself in the ancient world as our certified local guide shares insights into Roman life and architecture.
Upon arrival in Meknes, we will begin our guided tour at the impressive Bab Mansour, an ornamental gate that serves as the entrance to the imperial city. Explore the city's highlights including the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the entrance to the Royal Palace, and the grand Heri Es Souani, once a stable and barn for thousands of horses.
After Meknes, we will continue our journey to Fez.
Day 3 : Fez ā Ifrane ā Midelt ā Ziz Gorges ā Erfoud ā Rissani ā Sahara Desert
EnglishWe will pick you up at your Riad/hotel in the Medina of Fez and drive you south through the Middle Atlas Highlands to Ifrane and Azrou. We will stop at cedar trees along the journey to observe Barbary apes in their natural environment.
Later, we will continue towards Midelt via the Tizi N-Talghamt pass and the spectacular Ziz Gorges created by volcanic rock. Upon arrival in Errachidia, take in the panorama of the Middle Atlas plateau, which changes to offer hints of the desert.
After lunch, we will drive through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani and the Merzouga Desert. We will begin the camel ride to your luxury tent in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes before dusk, after a glass of mint tea. Where you will spend the night in a LUXURIOUS DESERT CAMP under the starry Sahara sky.
Day 4 : Merzouga - Khamlia - Rissani - Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, we will drive to Khamlia, a small desert village near the Erg Chebbi dunes.
There, you can visit a Berber's house and listen to his songs. This is a music called Gnawa, which comes from West Africa. You will also visit some mines in the desert and an area with palm trees.
This town has become more famous, both as a center of Tafilalet and a place where people can learn about the real culture of Morocco. That is why Rissani is known for its market, which is called "souk". You will go to this market. You will be able to buy jewelry, souvenirs, gifts, spices, handicrafts and other things.
Their food is called "Medfouna" and it is a classic Moroccan pizza. Then, we will return to the hotel in Merzouga and get ready for a camel ride in Erg Chebbi. You will ride a horse to the desert camp,
Day 5 : Merzouga ā Todra Gorges ā Dades
If you wake up early, you will be able to enjoy a magnificent sunrise in the dunes. You will then take a camel ride before starting to drive towards the town of Tinghir and then to the Todra Gorges, one of the most famous canyons in Morocco, where you will be provided with a ride with the opportunity to visit a nomadic family living in a cave. At the end of the day, we will reach the Dades Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the south of Morocco, where we will spend the night.
Day 6 : Dades Valley ā Ouarzazate ā Ait Ben Haddou ā High Atlas Mountain ā Marrakech
This morning, we'll continue our journey to Ouarzazate via the route of a thousand Kasbahs (fortresses), stopping at Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, known for its annual Rose Festival.
We continue to the Unesco World Heritage site, the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, after a few photos in Ouarzazate. The place is well-known for having served as a filming setting for Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and the popular HBO series Game of Thrones.
We'll next drive the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass (2260 meters high) to Marrakesh, where our four-day vacation from Tangier will come to close.
